My Mother’s Condition

My mother’s name is Paula Fabiola, and she has been one of the greatest light in my life. She has been a light in so many people’s lives throughout her journey. When I quit art, she was the person to motivate me back into my pathway and who always gave me all the guidance I needed to get to where I am now.

About 20 years ago, she began to experience certain allergies and sensitivities that started to make life more and more challenging, and every year, those sensitivities continues to get worse until she found herself bedridden and unable to do anything. Eventually, we found out that this was all due to a combination of factors that jeopardized her system. We were exposed to toxic mold, an array of chemicals and pesticides, and a viral agent that weakened her system over time. This all developed into what we now know as multiple chemical sensitivities, and those who experience this condition are rendered helpless as their system responds to any chemical exposure in unpredictable ways.

We have met countless other individuals throughout this experience who have also lost their way of life. Due to her condition, she is unable to leave the house, work, or even interact with others and it has now been years since she was last able to see her friends, travel anywhere, or do any of the things that she was always so passionate about! She is an artist, a performer, and the most loving person I know, and she has been locked away from her passions by this chronic illness. She almost completely faded away from us and we almost lost her through this struggle.

I have been blessed in the fact that my art career has been one of the most pivotal parts of our mission to save her life. All of the incredible support has given us so many resources to help heal her and I am so grateful for each and every one of you.
